REAL stands for Relevant, Engaging, Active Learning. REAL started at Hugh Christie in 2006 and is unique to our school.

REAL has a great team of teachers and support staff. 

​

For most students they will have five periods a week with their REAL teacher learning about History, Geography and Religious Education.

​

Through the study of REAL, you will learn about your place in Britain and the world today. You will answer some of the key religious, historical and geographical ‘big questions’ that have led to getting to the present. You will then explore some of the challenges that may affect your future and how these can be changed.

REAL will not only help you to learn lots of important knowledge, but it will also provide you with useful learning skills that will be helpful to you in a whole range of other subjects when you take your options in Year 9.
